Lodge in the spotlight ... That of BILASHAKA.

... we will definitely come back here .

Every now and then we are so stunned by a lodge that we dare to write a blog about it. It is not always the price/luxury/quality in which a guest house can excel, but also the charm of the lodge can encourage us to get into our proverbial pen.

Zebras, giraffes, waterbuck...

warthogs, all kinds of birds and at night even hippos grazing outside a few meters from the room. For 6 days we enjoyed the beautiful house, the swimming pool and the beautiful surroundings where the game roams freely in the garden. This is the perfect base for a visit to Hells Gate, Lake Elementaita, Nakuru or the somewhat more remote Ol Pejeta...and of course that of Naivasha.

The house itself is old school with a colonial rustic feel.

Together with the hospitality of the staff, this is without a doubt one of the most beautiful and special places we have ever stayed.

There may be no TV, but there is WiFi everywhere and there was also great cooking every day so that we never missed that TV.

The lodge also has its own guide/guard with whom you can go on a walking safari on the domain.

Guests stay in one of the five tastefully decorated rooms.

The 5 rooms (for a total of 10 guests) each have their own theme and are equipped with a shower and toilet.

In the meantime, a few more photos that speak volumes.

(and as for Lake Naivasha…. we'll talk about that later)
