MID RANGE 9 DAYS SOUTHERN TANZANIA (NYERERE + RUAHA)

If you are looking for isolation and an exclusive wildlife experience, this eight day safari is for you. 4x4 Game drives, boat ride and game walk with an armed ranger are some of the activities.

DAY 1 - Today you will meet your guide in the economic capital of Dar es Salaam. From Dar we drive to our first hotel in Iringa, already close to Ruaha NP. With lunch on the way at the NASHERA HOTEL because today is a fairly long drive (400km). We will dine and stay overnight in the SUNSET HOTEL (deluxe room).

DAY 2/3/4 - The next 3 days are reserved for exploring one of Tanzania's hidden treasures: the Ruaha National Park. Supplied with our picnic lunches, we spend 3 full days on safari in this vast, untouched wilderness area. The most special thing about visiting this vast national park is the absence of crowds. It's almost as big as Flanders and yet you can go on a game drive all day and never see another human soul. Ruaha  is a stronghold for populations of high concentrations of lions and endangered wild dogs. We spend our evenings in the same lodge every time (handy). This is the HILTOP LODGE

DAY 5 - Today one last time in diverse Ruaha for another half day safari. We leave the park to do a connecting ride for the rest of the day. Later in the afternoon we settle into our next hotel in Morogoro to have dinner and rest from our 1st safari impressions.

It is the NASHERA HOTEL

DAY 6 - Today 4x4 game drives towards Nyerere (formerly Selous), with a landscape of baobabs, black hardwood trees and grassy plains, looking for the abundance of wildlife and birds that can be found here.

After we have checked in, we do an evening game drive at sunset.

Dinner and overnight stay the next day is in the NYERERE TENTED CAMP LODGE.

DAY 7/8 - After breakfast we head out into this more remote and most pristine wilderness area in Africa, Njerere National Park. Literally because today we are also doing a game walk. We also do an extra boat trip these days. Former Selous is another good example to show that we encounter far fewer people in the South than in most other famous Northern reserves.

In addition to its impressive predator populations, this national park is also a sanctuary for more than 10,000 elephants.

DAY 9 - Today one last breakfast in the bush, before driving back to Dar es Salaam (300km). You now have the option to add a beach holiday to Zanzibar to the safari for a small additional fee. Contact us for more information about this well-priced optional beach getaway.
