18 days safari, culture and beach holiday

(West Kilimajaro, Tarangire, Mto wa Mbu, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Zanzibar)

DAY 1 - Arrival at Kilimanjaro airport with an overnight stay in Moshi. We chose you in this example the  PINK FLAMINGO BOUTIQUE HOTEL.  We also personally arrange the transfer… it is about a 40 km drive from the airport to Moshi.

This day depends a bit on the flight you chose. For example via KLM you will only arrive after dark (around 8 am) …

DAY 2 - Today we make a connection drive of about 2 hours and after you have had a leisurely breakfast we will pick you up around 10 am. After the hot lunch we will do all our first activities. This is in true Masai style and with real Masai warriors…

We're putting this in the  OSILIGILAI MAASAI LODGE.

Shortly after noon you will do a small climb to the hill top where there is a nice view of Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru. Then you will learn about the herb garden that they have created here and in the evening you can finish by the campfire after dinner.

DAY 3 - This day is dedicated to this Masai tribe. What's on the agenda today:

- Morning dance at sunrise

-Meditation and sauna moment

-A nature walk

- Throw javelin together

- And all this in ancient Masai style ...

DAY 4 - First safari…

After a connecting journey of about 240 km (5 hours drive) via 80% well-paved roads, we arrive here shortly after noon.

Tarangire NP was recently voted the 3rd most beautiful park in Africa and is also our favourite.

Particularly large numbers of elephant herds (sometimes up to 100) congregate here, as well as many zebras. The "dry" river of the same name is centrally located, where many animals come to drink.  You also have a fantastic view of this at the picnic site …

We'll spend the night in the SANGAIWE TENTED CAMP.

DAY 5 - Get up early today, have a quick cup of coffee, and then, with a walking stick, start a short but vigorous climb (in 3 phases) with the local guide of the camp. On top of the hill where all the tents are placed at the foot of it and with a view of the Burunge lake, you can see the sunrise (the sun coming up). We return to have breakfast only then.

We drive on and also this time the roads are good and after an hour (80 km) we arrive in Mto wa Mbo.

Around 10 am you can already do a cultural tour by bike (or on foot). In between there is lunch at the "mamas". A rich local buffet including 'chips mayai'. Then another 2 hours are spent in a school, a coffee roaster, between banana plantations and old crafts. At the end, you celebrate with locally brewed beer that you reached the finish line …

We return early (around 3 pm) to recover and enjoy your beautiful hotel.

In the AFRICAN VIEW LODGE we are expected and in addition to the lavish dinner, a small villa is waiting for you.

DAY 6 - After breakfast we leave Manyara and Karatu and this time drive a good 100 km to enter the legendary Serengeti. It is about 5 hours driving on good and bad dirt roads until we reach the central Seronera part.

It is the  BAOBAB CAMP where we are going to install now.

After dinner, relax to the sounds of the savannah. However, it is usually very quiet here because this camp is in the middle of nowhere ............... only the hyenas dare to wake you up.

DAY 7 - This will be a full day in the beautiful central Serengeti.

After breakfast we explore this vast area in one of Africa's most awe-inspiring safari areas. Because there are not many "real" roads here, the game can live here completely undisturbed and therefore also very suitable for safaris all year round.

In addition, you can sometimes find 25 different wild cats (lion, cheetah, leopard, serval, caracal) here per day.

We stay again in the same tented camp.

DAY 8 - After staying in Serengeti for a few days, the Ngorongoro crater is still on our program.

We will of course also descend this one ... in search of rhinoceroses.

This his is a vast plain, which is intersected by small rivers, swamps, forests, and the white Lake Magadi.

Early in the morning we leave our camp with the intention of game driving from around 10am to 6pm in this UNESCO world heritage site.

We spend the night in it ACACIA CASTLE …

DAY 9 - Unfortunately this will be the last day on Tanzanian soil. But there is more: Zanzibar…

The ride is only about 3 hours, so you can still enjoy the last sunrise …

In any case, your plane to ZZB takes off around 1PM, and after barely an hour you are already there.

Someone is already waiting for you there and you're transfer will bring you to the NEW TEDDY"S ON THE BEACH .

Like most countries in East Africa near the equator, Zanzibar has equal days and nights of 12 hours each with daytime temperatures always between 27 and 30 degrees. So you can use 7 full days here to do nothing or even more.

DAY 10-18 - In addition to the guesthouse, we also organize the transfer that will be provided by the resort and there are also various extra excursions that can be undertaken here. (to be booked the day before)

For example, visiting Prison Island. The island will amaze you from the first minute you arrive. Prison Island has a fascinating history, like a never-used prison. You will discover many peculiarities, one of which is certainly the giant tortoises that inhabit this paradise island.

On day 18 we will take you back to the airport and you will return home.
